Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver the required curriculum with accurate, up-to-date subject knowledge, and plan and deliver quality, differentiated lessons.
  • •Create and manage teaching resources and classroom environments for different learning styles, including written evidence of planning and preparation on request.
  • •Set and mark work; assess, record, and report on student progress and attainment; ensure the curriculum meets individual student needs.
  • •Maintain records (curriculum and year plans, attendance, teaching resources, assessment plans) and follow GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.

Key Requirements

  • •B.Ed or Bachelors degree in English plus and/or Social Science/Studies, Psychology or a relevant field, with PGCE/PGDE or an equivalent L5 teaching qualification.
  • •Knowledge of ICT use in schools to aid teaching and learning.
  • •At least 2 years of teaching experience in the relevant subject area and age group.
  • •Strong subject knowledge and solid commitment to teaching and learning.
  • •Excellent communication skills to build relationships with students and colleagues and contribute to wider school life.
