Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and their families at assigned military installations.
  • •Deliver a full range of counseling services including one-on-one counseling, consultations, briefings/presentations, and referral resources outside counseling sessions.
  • •Work with installation and military branch points of contact to ensure the program stays within scope and meets installation needs.
  • •Assist with establishing spending plans for extended absences and develop informational financial materials for service members and families.
  • •Coordinate, publicize, and provide personal financial management classes/workshops, including age-appropriate seminars, and manage duty to warn situations per DoD protocol.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required; associate degree plus 4 years’ experience or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • •Obtain one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
  • •Be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation. Must be able to pass the OCI process.
