Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections with follow-up repairs for trucks and trailers in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, brake, cooling, steering, engine, transmission, clutch, and differential systems.
  • •Diagnose and repair trailer equipment and systems, including brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps/engines, liftgates, and brake chambers; perform welding/fabrication and panel/body/frame replacement.
  • •Road test vehicles, inspect/test defective equipment, and use sound judgment to identify malfunctions and appropriate repairs.
  • •Complete repair orders and documentation (including photos), manage daily scheduling, parts inventory on the service truck, and coordinate approvals with management/support.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or an equivalent combination with additional degree/certification or 5 years’ experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
  • •Pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical (or submit a DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining).
  • •Be at least 21 years or older and provide 3 YR MVR review; hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license.
