Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the API, data-access, and permission layer that underpins bills and bill payments.
  • •Define contracts, data models, and permission scopes for what clients, partner integrations, and AI agents can read, write, approve, and pay.
  • •Sequence and lead a replatform for a system serving 1M+ monthly active users, including migration, dual-running, and rollback plans to avoid downtime.
  • •Own end-to-end accounts payable product areas—capture and understanding, coding/data extraction, approval routing, scheduling, payment execution, reconciliation, and exceptions.
  • •Define how AI and agents participate in accounts payable, including evaluation criteria, human-in-the-loop control, and safe exposure via integrations and the MCP server.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience shipping below the UI, including work on APIs, integration layers, or shared services with strong understanding of contract change costs.
  • •Substantive AI product experience, including shipping LLM-powered capabilities with evaluations, confidence thresholds, and knowledge of production failure modes.
  • •Multi-persona B2B product experience handling conflicting user needs with explicit trade-offs between at least two personas.
  • •Experience building in error-intolerant domains where mistakes cost money or carry regulatory consequence (e.g., payments or tax-related workflows).
  • •Ability to lead delivery through cross-functional architecture and design reviews and drive decisions via complex stakeholder groups.
