Key Responsibilities

  • •Reinforce didactic content by teaching nursing knowledge and skills for pre-licensure students.
  • •Collaborate with nursing content-area faculty to evaluate and document student progress toward clinical objectives.
  • •Grade written and clinical performance check-offs and observe student performance during clinical rotations.
  • •Stay current with new trends and developments in medical-surgical nursing practice.
  • •Maintain program accreditation compliance and uphold the university’s nursing philosophy and mission through service and support of required statements.

Key Requirements

  • •Preferred: Masters (or higher) in Nursing.
  • •2 years of recent direct patient care nursing experience in Medical-Surgical nursing.
  • •Minimum: Bachelor's in nursing AND 3 years of recent direct patient care nursing experience in Medical-Surgical nursing AND enrolled in a graduate program, or hold relevant national certification for the clinical area they teach.
  • •Active, current, unencumbered, and unrestricted AZ or multi-state (compact) RN license.
  • •Must successfully pass a drug test and competency testing; excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students.
