Own CNC deterministic polishing process development, stabilization, and daily performance for the Wilton Factory Optics team. Drive improvements in first pass yield, output, and quality by defining process parameters and control strategies, qualifying fixtures/tools/software, and translating interferometry and surface inspection data into actionable decisions. Lead structured 6P readiness, perform RCA using statistical methods, maintain SPC-based process control, and collaborate daily with production, quality, equipment engineering, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide end-to-end ownership of CNC deterministic polishing processes, including defining and optimizing process parameters.
•Ensure measurement stability, select tooling, and manage environmental control and performance across tools and shifts.
•Lead introduction and qualification of new fixtures, tools, software, and machine upgrades, interpreting interferometry/profilometry results.
•Establish process control by defining process windows, capability targets, and long-term monitoring using SPC and statistical analysis.
•Perform structured RCA and drive corrective actions through verification, embedding, and sustainable outcomes, aligned with full 6P readiness.

Key Requirements

•BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical, Optical, Materials, or a related engineering field.
•Minimum 5 years of experience in optical fabrication and CNC deterministic polishing machine work.
•Experience with tooling mechanics, interpreting CNC deterministic polishing results, and process development.
•Demonstrated ability in structured problem solving, data analysis, RCA, and process improvement.
•Strong capability with structured RCA, verification-driven corrective action, and 6P readiness.
