Key Responsibilities

  • •Guide and facilitate safety risk management activities of a cross-functional expert team.
  • •Ensure adherence to process and standards such as ISO 14971, IEC 62366-1, IEC 60601-1, and IEC 62304.
  • •Own the risk management documents in the technical file.
  • •Contribute to post-release risk management activities.
  • •Take operational responsibility for safety risk management in projects, including creating/maintaining risk management plans and matrices, ensuring risk control quality and completeness, and maintaining traceability between risk artifacts, requirements, and verification.

Key Requirements

  • •3+ years’ experience in medical product development with 1+ years in safety risk management for active medical devices, preferably for software-intense embedded systems.
  • •Fundamental knowledge of risk-management and safe hardware/software development regulations, including ISO 14971, FDA 21 CFR 820, EU MDR, IEC 60601-1, IEC 62304, and IEC 62366-1.
  • •Methodology know-how such as FMEA, FTA, and PHA.
  • •Understanding of safety risk engineering integrated into a system engineering workflow.
  • •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in EE/ME/SW/Systems Engineering/Medical, and fluent English and German.
