Job Summary

Support ByteDance’s global data center operations by reviewing MEP design for new builds, evaluating infrastructure projects during procurement, and defining commissioning and testing plans. Lead testing/commissioning discussions, help the DC Engineering FM team manage design limitations and risks, and perform on-site inspections to identify issues. Ensure data center infrastructure operates securely, reliably, and as designed against global standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Participate in and review Data Center MEP design and related disciplines for new data center builds to assess effectiveness and stability.
•Support technical management and technical evaluation for global data center infrastructure project procurement.
•Participate in commissioning and testing discussions to determine required tests that verify design elements.
•Support the DC Engineering FM team to understand and address design limitations and risks.
•Conduct on-site inspections to identify risks in data center infrastructure to ensure secure and stable operation.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or HVAC.
•Lead a testing and commissioning team to perform L1 to L5 commissioning tests to validate system design intent and resolve technical problems.
•Understand global data center infrastructure standards and be able to review data center infrastructure drawings.
•Have electrical and/or mechanical engineering experience with equipment such as generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS, and electrical sub-distribution systems.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to clarity and detail.
