Job Summary

Design, validate, and certify engine control systems for gas turbine engines, including new models, derivatives, and hybrid/new technology demonstrators. Develop system-level requirements, align control functionality with engine/aircraft needs, and collaborate across integrated product teams and software suppliers. Plan and execute validation tests on closed-loop simulators, test cells, and experimental aircraft, analyze test data and field events, and produce certification reports for airworthiness authorities.

Key Responsibilities

•Collaborate with aircraft manufacturers and internal teams to define, design, and implement engine control system requirements.
•Develop system-level requirements and align control system functionality with engine and aircraft needs across integrated product teams.
•Partner with software design and external software suppliers to ensure system requirements are interpreted and implemented correctly.
•Define and execute test plans on closed-loop simulators, test cells, and experimental flight test aircraft to validate system behavior; support customer flight testing.
•Review and interpret validation test data to isolate root causes and propose technical solutions; produce certification reports for airworthiness authorities.

Key Requirements

•Degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or aerospace) combined with 5 to 15 years of control systems engineering experience.
•Relevant experience in gas turbine control systems.
•Knowledge of dual channel FADEC (considered an asset).
•Understanding of DO-178C and ARP4754 (considered desirable).
