Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead design vision and execution for consumer touchpoints across compass.com and the Compass iOS/Android apps, improving discovery, search, listing exploration, and decision-making.
  • •Partner with Product, Engineering, and Analytics to align multi-quarter roadmaps, resolve dependencies, and drive shared accountability for consumer KPIs.
  • •Manage, coach, and inspire product designers (mid-level to senior/staff ICs), including 1:1s, performance evaluations, and career-growth support.
  • •Drive operational diligence across design workstreams: scope and resource projects, establish delivery milestones, and track timelines with Product and Program Management.
  • •Champion design craft and usability standards through critiques and reviews, improving information architecture, accessibility, and overall usability across web and native mobile interfaces.

Key Requirements

  • •8-10+ years of product/UX design experience, including 2-4+ years managing and developing product designers in high-growth tech environments.
  • •Proven success leading design for high-traffic consumer digital products across responsive web and native iOS/Android apps at scale.
  • •Ability to operate across, down, and up: manage direct reports, collaborate across EPD disciplines, and engage Director/VP/C-suite stakeholders with executive poise.
  • •Strong operational execution: manage complex resourcing, establish dependable delivery cadences, track timeline health, and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • •Deep fluency in iOS Human Interface Guidelines, Android Material Design, responsive web paradigms, design systems governance, and modern design tooling (Figma, prototyping).
