Key Responsibilities

  • •Determine reinforcing rod number, size, shape, and placement from blueprints, sketches, or instructions.
  • •Position and secure steel bars in concrete forms, including selecting spacing and fastening them together with wire and pliers.
  • •Cut and bend steel rods to required lengths and shapes using appropriate hand tools or machines.
  • •Reinforce concrete with wire mesh and may weld reinforcing bar together using arc-welding equipment.
  • •Observe and comply with all safety and project rules; load/transport/unload materials and perform minor tool maintenance/cleaning as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Work as a Rodbuster for at least 3 years as a journeyman.
  • •Ability to determine reinforcing rod number, size, and shape from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions.
  • •Ability to cut reinforcing bars to required lengths using tools such as hacksaw, bar cutters, or an acetylene torch.
  • •Ability to bend reinforcing rods using hand tools or a rod bending machine.
  • •Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.
