Oversee and direct day-to-day operation and maintenance for utility and energy assets at the Central Energy Plant on Ford’s Research and Engineering campus. Ensure reliable delivery of steam, hot water, chilled water, and electrical distribution for campus needs and the grid. Lead field service engineers supporting ~90 MW of backup generation, manage O&M technicians and skilled trades, drive safety, performance, continuous improvement, and maintenance strategy.

Key Responsibilities

•Oversee and direct daily operation and maintenance activities for utility and energy assets at the Central Energy Plant.
•Lead and manage O&M technicians and skilled trades to ensure safe, efficient plant operation while managing schedules and overtime.
•Develop, implement, and manage operating philosophies and best practices to maximize availability, efficiency, and productivity.
•Establish and modify predictive/preventive maintenance requirements within the maintenance management system and align them to maintenance strategy.
•Investigate operating abnormalities and forced outages, prepare operation reports, and assist with budgeting and outage project management alongside the Plant Manager.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED.
•At least 8 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a cogeneration power plant with a represented (union) workforce.
•Thorough understanding of plant operations and maintenance, including generating equipment, boilers, and water treatment processes.
•Proven planning and scheduling experience using O&M and supporting preventative/predictive and corrective maintenance.
•Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work shifts and extra/irregular hours.
