Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct animal welfare and handling, regulatory, biosecurity, process evaluation, and certification audits for live production facilities, including transportation and handling.
  • •Ensure compliance with company and governmental standards and perform unannounced audits when animals are present or outside normal day shifts.
  • •Review and implement audit program actions, maintain training records, and distribute weekly and ongoing reports to management.
  • •Analyze internal animal welfare audit data for trends and risks; collaborate with business leaders to implement improvements.
  • •Develop and deliver animal welfare and handling training for Tyson team members and contract personnel; provide technical support for CARE and Farm Check and assist with external audit requests.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • •Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in live animal production and/or processing; meat plant operations experience is a plus.
  • •Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); ability to perform data analysis and reporting; Safety Chain system and NR Database experience preferred.
  • •PAACO (Professional Animal Auditor Certification Organization) certification or eligibility and commitment to obtain certification; thorough knowledge of live production, biosecurity, food safety, and animal welfare and handling standards.
  • •Valid driver license to travel between Newbern and Williams weekly; ability to travel 4-6 times per year and meet physical requirements; must reside within the United States (sponsorship not available).
