Job Summary

Lead end-to-end data science projects by translating business priorities into analytic solutions, predictive models, and experimentation that improves safety, employee engagement, operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction. Perform advanced statistical analysis, develop forecasting and “what-if” capabilities, and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences using data visualization and storytelling. Oversee and coach data scientists, evaluate new technologies, and support data analytics strategies and roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead data science projects end-to-end by defining business requirements, gathering data, researching analytics solutions, and integrating them into business processes.
•Conduct advanced statistical analysis to identify trends, significant data relationships, and improvement opportunities.
•Develop complex data sets and predictive models to support business decisions across safety, employee engagement, operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
•Prepare and deliver presentations and action recommendations, explaining complex findings to both leaders and crews using storytelling and data visualization.
•Oversee and coach data scientists, mentor professional development in conjunction with the team manager, and evaluate new technologies to advance analytics capabilities.

Key Requirements

•Experience meeting one of the listed education-and-experience tracks (e.g., bachelor’s + 10 years, master’s + 8 years, Ph.D. + 6 years) or at least 5 years in qualitative and quantitative analytics.
•Intermediate-level competency using advanced Excel and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, Alteryx, VBA, R, Python, SAS, SPSS, Stata, MATLAB) for in-depth decision support.
•Proven ability to articulate business questions and pull data from relational databases (e.g., ORACLE, SQL SERVER).
•Intermediate-to-advanced skills in SQL, Python, and R, plus visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
•Experience designing and supporting a production data transformation/validation pipeline, and advanced applied research skills in machine learning, prediction, and optimization.
