Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the design, development, and evolution of Duo CLI features from problem definition through implementation, rollout, and iteration.
  • •Build interactive terminal experiences with command/flag design, clear output formatting, scripting-friendly behavior, and backward compatibility.
  • •Drive reliability, observability, and performance improvements using reliability/performance metrics while reducing technical debt.
  • •Collaborate with Product, Design, and engineers across Developer Clients and AI Clients to align technical decisions with broader strategy.
  • •Champion product quality, security, and developer experience through reviews and mentorship; contribute to IDE extension work when useful.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong proficiency in TypeScript and an interest in developer tooling and CLI design.
  • •Experience building or maintaining command-line tools, including command/flag design and terminal UI/output formatting with backward compatibility.
  • •Ability to own technical problems end to end, make sound architectural trade-offs, and guide others through code reviews and mentorship.
  • •Clear written and spoken English communication skills and comfort working fully remote and largely asynchronous.
  • •Experience with IDE extension development (JetBrains plugins in Kotlin or VS Code extensions) and familiarity with LSP/language servers/editor integrations are helpful but not required.
