Job Summary

Build and support ML software components powering Capital One’s AI-powered products, including distributed model training/inference, model orchestration, and observability. Partner with engineers, research scientists, program managers, and product managers to deliver customer- and associate-facing experiences. Leverage Kubernetes, Kubeflow Pipelines, Ray, Polars, and other open-source/SaaS AI/ML tools, while inventing ETL and optimization techniques to improve scalability, cost, latency, and throughput for production ML systems.

Key Responsibilities

•Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that change how associates work and how customers interact with Capital One.
•Design, develop, test, and support ML software components including distributed model training/inference, model orchestration, and observability.
•Leverage open-source and SaaS AI/ML technologies such as Kubernetes, Kubeflow Pipelines, Ray, and Polars.
•Invent and introduce ETL and ML optimization techniques to improve performance (scalability, cost, latency, throughput) of production ML systems.
•Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of ML systems at Capital One.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 229,900 - 262,400 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/AI/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering (or related) plus 6+ years developing AI/ML algorithms/technologies, or a Master’s degree plus 4+ years developing AI/ML algorithms/technologies.
•At least 6 years programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
•7 years of deploying scalable, responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud).
•Experience designing, developing, integrating, delivering, and supporting complex AI systems.
•Experience developing and applying state-of-the-art techniques to optimize training and inference software for hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost.
