Job Summary

We are seeking a weekend Freelance Pop & Internet Culture Social Editor to own Complex Pop Culture content across Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. You’ll craft timely, trend-driven posts, manage communities, and create real-time assets in Photoshop and CapCut, driving growth, engagement and audience action.

Key Responsibilities

•Execute the voice of Complex Pop Culture on Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, and TikTok, focusing on streaming and creator culture.
•Lead community management, moderation, and DM management with the Complex tone.
•Surface and pitch viral, breaking, and social-friendly content to the news team; develop assets in Photoshop and CapCut.
•Ideate, source, and create original real-time content identifying memes and trends at the cusp of virality.
•Support social goals (growth, traffic, views, engagement) with vertical-specific tactics and direction, and coordinate with the branded social team when needed.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 28 daily

Key Requirements

•2-3 years of social media and editorial experience with a publisher or brand.
•Extensive knowledge of internet and pop culture, with focus on film/TV, anime, Twitch/Kick streamers and creators, and video games.
•Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop & Premiere) and CapCut (mobile editing software).
•Experience with AI image generation.
•Strong writing, communication, proofreading, and quick decision-making skills.
