Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop design criteria and produce roadway geometry, traffic control plans, signing and pavement marking layouts, and drainage/stormwater solutions.
  • •Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
  • •Create technical reports, tables, and graphics in accordance with client requirements and AECOM standards.
  • •Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • •Conduct site visits/field investigations, communicate findings, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support project execution with project and department managers.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) plus four (4) years of relevant experience (or an equivalent education/experience combination).
  • •Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • •Demonstrated experience using Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and AutoCAD Civil 3D (or similar highway/transportation design software).
  • •Design experience on VDOT projects (preferred).
  • •Professional Engineer (PE) license in any state, or ability to obtain PE within 1 year of hire (plus ABET-accredited degree).
