Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and develop LV switchgears (AC/DC rated breakers, switch disconnectors, contactors, motor relays, auxiliary contacts, and accessories) to meet customer and cost targets.
  • •Perform system/component sizing, simulation, and testing validation for industrialization.
  • •Create parts and products with design-for-manufacturing and assembly, applying knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal, casting, machining, and tooling considerations.
  • •Conduct engineering analysis of arc chambers, current paths, and contacts; ensure subsystem/module technical ownership and compliance with relevant global standards (e.g., IEC/UL).
  • •Modify existing products via change management and execute test plans, assess results, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions.

Key Requirements

  • •BE / M.tech in Mechanical Engineering
  • •7–10 years of product design experience
  • •Experience with Research/NPI/Sustaining projects for breakers, switch disconnectors, contactors, auxiliary contacts, accessories, or similar products
  • •Expertise in plastic injection molding and sheet metal part design, mechanism design, and system integration
  • •Knowledge of LV switchgear standards and test execution (IEC/UL/CSA/CCC; EN60947 / UL60947) with ability to do root cause analysis and corrective actions
