Create detailed cost estimates for HVAC Controls projects for building owners, supporting Account Managers in bidding and pricing. Lead pre-bid scope reviews, identify cost-saving opportunities and risks, and coordinate with operations to control cost variations, including labor and subcontract costs.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare complete cost estimates covering materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, start-up/service work, and related construction activities to support Account Managers in bidding and pricing.
•Develop detailed project scope based on Account Managers’ design-build scope and plans/specifications for competitive bidding.
•Create detailed cost estimates including system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposals, vendor/subcontractor quotes, and points lists.
•Perform equipment take-off and pricing to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, and options.
•Hold pre-bid meetings, identify cost-saving opportunities and risk items, negotiate vendor/subcontractor pricing, and coordinate with Operations/Fulfillment to control cost variations through validation and post-mortems.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: 94,366.66 - 152,200 annually

Key Requirements

•Associates or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 3–5 years estimating/engineering/construction management experience, or 5–7 years controls field experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Proven experience with Building Automation, HVAC Controls, and HVAC Systems.
•Working knowledge of construction facets including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with strong financial and business acumen and a track record of projects on time and on budget.
•Ability to prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines in a high-paced environment with attention to detail.
•Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with no major/frequent traffic violations; flexibility to work overtime/weekends as required.
