Job Summary

Own the raw materials development and procurement process in partnership with Design and Sourcing, translating design aesthetics into technically feasible product outcomes. Build vendor relationships, research new raw material concepts and technologies, and manage the raw material development critical path to meet deadlines and budgets. Ensure materials are ordered and delivered on time, support product testing with Operations, and keep PLM accurate throughout development.

Key Responsibilities

•Partner with Design as the technical specialist: attend raw material meetings, provide feasibility feedback, and brainstorm solutions to translate the design vision into product.
•Develop and maintain vendor relationships, building knowledge of vendor capability and availability to meet demand.
•Research and develop new raw material concepts and technologies (including samples, colourways, and collaboration with mills).
•Agree and implement the raw material development critical path with Product Development and Design teams, managing deadlines and risks to drive completion.
•Order and deliver raw materials on time, within quality and cost targets, and ensure products are fit for customer, brand, and business through ongoing risk assessment.

Key Requirements

•Ability to partner with designers and technicians to interpret creative aesthetic and translate it to teams and vendors.
•Technical capability and product knowledge to influence design, including leather and fabric processing and testing/QC fundamentals.
•Experience managing vendor relationships and delivering clear briefs to meet demand.
•Critical path management to deliver collections on time, identify risks/challenges, and recommend mitigations.
•Computer skills including PLM and Excel.
