Job Summary

Operate and maintain Tyson’s ammonia refrigeration system and related utilities (HCFC systems, hot water, air compressors, and waste treatment) to ensure safe, efficient performance. Work to OSHA PSM and EPA RMP standards, troubleshoot and repair mechanical/electrical refrigeration systems, and collaborate with operations, management, and contractors. Participate in training, meet physical/PPE requirements, and serve on the Emergency Response Team.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate and maintain the ammonia refrigeration system, HCFC systems, hot water, air compressors, and waste treatment operations safely and efficiently.
•Follow OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) rules and standards.
•Troubleshoot and repair mechanical/electrical refrigeration and other assigned systems.
•Work effectively in a team environment with management, operations personnel, and contractors.
•Complete required training, pass HAZ-Mat physical, and participate on the Emergency Response Team as an Emergency Responder Technician Level.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma or GED.
•3+ years of industrial ammonia refrigeration and equipment room experience in a food plant preferred.
•Foundational knowledge troubleshooting and repairing mechanical/electrical refrigeration and related systems.
•Experience with industrial maintenance and electrical testing tools, plus ability to read equipment and system P&IDs.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to learn Tyson’s SAP-PM (Plant Maintenance) system.
