Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform full range maintenance processes including disassembly, repair, overhaul, modification, alignment, diagnosis, and testing in bay or line operations.
  • •Service wheeled and tracked heavy mobile equipment and related components, including engines, transmissions, final drives, and other assemblies.
  • •Install, connect, and adjust mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, including pre- and post-installation modifications and repairs.
  • •Conduct diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting to determine serviceability and identify defects or malfunctions.
  • •Prepare vehicles for final inspection through tune-ups, repairs, replacements, and adjustments, and support road tests and rebuild operations as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED required.
  • •1–5 years of training through on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers.
  • •A recognized apprenticeship program may be associated with these occupations.
  • •May be required to obtain and use a CDL Class A to operate vehicles for testing purposes.
