Key Responsibilities

  • •Collect, compile, and analyze data from physical work sites, surveys, structural plans, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and materials sampling for field inspection activities.
  • •Perform basic professional inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, construction materials, controls, layout, alignment, and elevation to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, and permits.
  • •Provide technical assistance to support proper inspection, construction, and functioning of buildings, highways, roads, bridges, structures, infrastructure, equipment, and/or mechanical systems according to design specifications.
  • •Verify load calculations and change orders, interpret contract plans and specifications, and escalate differences, errors, or technical problems for resolution.
  • •Generate complete, accurate documentation and specifications for inspection findings using electronic systems, written/oral feedback, photographs, drawings/diagrams, and reports; comply with client policies and site safety procedures, complete training, and collaborate with other professionals.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma and at least 11 years of relevant post-education experience in the discipline with prior construction inspection experience.
  • •American Concrete Institute (ACI) certified or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • •Valid state driver’s license.
  • •Strong knowledge of construction inspection principles and field inspection practices, methods, techniques, and applicable codes, regulations, and record-keeping requirements.
  • •Ability to produce complete technical documentation and specifications, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, and work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
