Key Responsibilities

  • •Identify and screen visitors for contraband and maintain control of visitors in the waiting area.
  • •Enforce facility policies including visitation/court policy questions, dress code, and visitor logbook documentation.
  • •Conduct security procedures such as weapons locker inventory, metal-detector/handheld device screening, and bag/package searches.
  • •Control access through the main gate, denying passage to unauthorized people or vehicles, and monitor suspicious activities and security breaches.
  • •Perform perimeter inspections and patrols, respond to fence alarms and requests for assistance, complete fire/security inspections, and document logbook notations.

Key Requirements

  • •Must be 21 years of age.
  • •Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident who has lived in the U.S. for 3 of the past 5 years.
  • •Must possess a State of Texas Level III Guard Permit.
  • •Must qualify with a 9mm caliber pistol and demonstrate safe weapon handling with a semi-automatic pistol.
  • •Must have a High School Diploma or GED and a clear criminal history (no felonies or Class A misdemeanors).
