Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide short-term, solution-focused non-medical counseling to service members’ adults, children, and youth, including assessment, brief counseling, action planning, referrals, and follow-up.
  • •Support CYB services by focusing on children and youth settings (e.g., CDCs, DoDEA/community schools, youth programs, summer camps) and providing parent training and guidance.
  • •Deliver training and health/wellness presentations and participate in base/installation activities such as health fairs.
  • •Maintain confidentiality and report counselor activity data daily through a smart phone or web application while ensuring accurate, anonymized reporting.
  • •Collaborate with installation and military Points of Contact (POCs) and supervisors, manage duty to warn/restricted reporting per DoD protocol, and respond to critical incidents and special requests.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree in a mental health related field or social work from an accredited graduate program.
  • •Current independent-level licensure as a Mental Health Counselor, Therapist, or Social Worker meeting state/commonwealth/customer requirements.
  • •Ability to prove US Citizenship and must be fluent in English.
  • •Advanced knowledge of brief therapy and solution-focused counseling methods.
  • •Willingness to accept short-notice assignments, including weekends, with travel/positioning across installation and/or school settings as required.
