Key Responsibilities

  • •Direct and manage the soil team, focusing on capability growth and building the client base with commercial awareness.
  • •Lead project delivery across the UK and support preparation of fee proposals, business development, and work-winning.
  • •Develop and implement the soil strategy, including Agricultural Land Classification (ALC) and Soil Resource Assessment, and support tailored assessments for Environmental Statements.
  • •Collaborate with other business areas to expand technical offerings and client base.
  • •Train junior staff and share knowledge across environmental disciplines.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree level qualification in Soil Science (or similar such as physical geology or environmental science) with 10+ years relevant experience.
  • •Experience in consultancy with a strong understanding of relevant policies and guidance.
  • •Proven experience leading and growing a team.
  • •Thorough grounding in H&S procedures, including CDM.
  • •Registered with a relevant professional body (e.g. British Society Soil Science) and ideally chartered.
