Job Summary

Conduct metallurgical test work at Red Dog Mine, including grinding, flotation, and plant sampling, and support daily mill operations as well as short- and medium-term projects to improve performance. Serve as a safety and environmental leader, complete measurements and analyses with clear reporting, and collaborate with operating, analytical, and maintenance teams. Collect key environmental samples and perform plant surveys under the direction of the Principal Metallurgist.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as a safety and environmental leader by adhering to and sponsoring safety and environmental rules and procedures.
•Complete assigned work including measurements, calculations, analyses, calibrations, interpretations, reporting, and recommendations.
•Communicate effectively with operating, analytical, and maintenance groups to ensure optimum resource utilization.
•Conduct laboratory metallurgical tests such as plant sampling, sizing, cyclosizing, grinding and flotation testwork, and pilot plant operations.
•Support daily mill operation and projects by collecting key environmental samples and undertaking plant surveys.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.

•Ability to perform significant physical activity and work with a respirator in the mill environment.
•Proficient in MS Office 2007 and Excel; strong organization, observation, and communication skills.
