Job Summary

Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components for world-class training systems, supporting U.S. military and allied programs. You will optimize CAM programs, interpret blueprints and GD&T, select tooling and machining parameters, and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Program teams to meet engineering, quality, and schedule requirements while upholding CAE’s safety and Lean initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using approved CAM software to support production and prototype machining needs.
•Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and associated equipment to manufacture components in accordance with engineering drawings, models, and specifications.
•Review and interpret technical documentation—including blueprints, 3D CAD data, process instructions, and GD&T requirements—to determine the correct machining approach.
•Select appropriate tooling, work holding, and machining parameters to ensure repeatability, accuracy, and manufacturability across multiple materials.
•Document setups, program revisions, and process notes in accordance with CAE configuration control and manufacturing documentation standards.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent; postsecondary technical certificate or apprenticeship strongly preferred.
•3+ years of CNC programming and/or CNC machine operation in a production environment.
•Proficiency in G-code programming and CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent).
•Strong understanding of machining fundamentals, blueprint reading, and GD&T per ASME standards.
•Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.
