Key Responsibilities

  • •Review and retrieve right-of-way documents (easements, leases, licenses, permits, contracts) to ensure compliance and establish existing rights.
  • •Coordinate activities between Engineering and Operations and research courthouse/other records to determine ownership and required signatures.
  • •Prepare and review right-of-way documents and comments for submission to the company’s legal organization under direction of ROW leadership.
  • •Resolve, negotiate, and diffuse landowner disputes and complaints; support ROW records reconciliation and file management initiatives.
  • •Coordinate permitting applications with TxDOT and railroad entities, maintain permitting tracking, and report weekly project status to ROW leadership.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Engineering, Legal Studies, or a related field with two years of related experience (or equivalent).
  • •IRWA/IRWP preferred.
  • •Excellent verbal and written communication to persuade and influence internal customers and external stakeholders on easement/land rights and contractual issues.
  • •Ability to research courthouse and other records to determine legal ownership, property descriptions, ownership details, and required signatures.
  • •Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Professional, and Google Earth to create standardized documents, reports, or graphs.
