  • •Plan and facilitate identified training and development interventions to ensure competency of nursing staff.
  • •Develop the competence of all nursing staff.
  • •Ensure the correct application of nursing procedures and policies.
  • •Identify training needs to guide development of appropriate clinical training interventions.
  • •Promote a culture of continuous professional development; support infection prevention and control and clinical risk management.

Key Requirements

  • •Professional Nurse qualification and a Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education (or relevant experience/qualifications specified for clinical facilitator roles).
  • •If not holding the Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education, at least 3 years experience as a mentor.
  • •1 year of mentor experience.
  • •3 years of Professional Nurse experience in a hospital.
  • •For specialist-unit clinical facilitator roles: Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing plus a certificate of competence in Generic Assessment (Assessor course).
