Job Summary

Support construction management by overseeing field engineering, contract administration, inspections, testing, surveying, and quality control for roadway/highway and transit/rail projects. Serve as a primary point of contact between the client, project team, and contractors, reviewing documentation such as pay applications, change orders, submittals, and shop drawings. Supervise and develop field staff, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, safety policies, and project drawings/specifications.

Key Responsibilities

•Supervise, develop, and train field staff and other construction support staff assigned to a project.
•Conduct inspections and review work against applicable codes, standards, and project drawings/specifications.
•Handle field engineering, contract administration, inspection, testing, surveying, and quality control for one large or multiple small construction projects.
•Verify and review project documentation for acceptance, including pay applications, change orders, submittals, shop drawings, and related items.
•Act as primary point of contact between client, project team, and contractors; attend and may lead construction meetings.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field (or equivalent).
•7+ years of directly relevant experience, including Resident Engineer or related roles.
•Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials (e.g., Caltrans).
•Ability to read and interpret contract documents.
•Valid driver’s license and proven commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company safety/harassment policies.
