Key Responsibilities

  • •Design the integration layer and runtime environments that enable custom kernels to execute as native extensions within the PyTorch ecosystem.
  • •Implement a virtual ISA abstraction that resolves performance bottlenecks through direct hardware control while keeping tensor-level programmability.
  • •Build core programming tools, technical specifications, and reference implementations to enable kernel development.
  • •Support developer contributions by enabling and maintaining a kernel developer ecosystem.
  • •Develop architectural components focused on performance and efficient execution.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent practical experience.
  • •Systems programming experience (Rust, C++, or Go) with strong understanding of computer architecture (ISA, SIMD, memory hierarchies).
  • •Experience designing and building clean, robust, well-defined programming interfaces.
  • •Master’s or PhD degree (or equivalent practical experience).
  • •Experience with low-latency asynchronous execution models, kernel-level performance optimization, or hardware-software co-design.
