Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and evolve engineering standards for core data provisioning platforms aligned to the bank’s Group Data Strategy and Data Future State Architecture.
  • •Lead deep technical standards and approach across enterprise data assets and APIs, reference data services, big data ingestion/streaming/transformation, and decisioning infrastructure (feature stores and orchestration).
  • •Ensure platform consistency, reusability, and compliance via peer reviews; guide teams implementing data pipelines, APIs, metadata-driven controls, and automated testing frameworks.
  • •Champion DevSecOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code; drive control transition toward agentic AI coding assistants.
  • •Lead best practices in observability, performance engineering, cost optimization, scalability in hybrid cloud, and mentor senior engineers across multiple squads and geographies.

Key Requirements

  • •Senior-level hands-on experience in data platform engineering, architecture, or software development (preferably in a global financial institution).
  • •Expertise building large-scale data pipelines, APIs, and event-driven systems using modern frameworks (e.g., Spring, Kafka, Spark).
  • •Strong architectural understanding of data mesh, data lakehouse, and real-time operational/analytics platforms.
  • •Experience with AWS and GCP, containerisation, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools.
  • •Ability to actively write and deliver code, plus strong communication and influencing skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
