Job Summary

Lead technical transport planning for development projects across commercial, retail, and residential sectors in Liverpool. Develop transport strategies, contribute to masterplans, and support planning submissions including Expert Witness evidence. Manage day-to-day inputs and project delivery where appropriate, collaborate with Highways, Services, Structures, and Environmental teams on multidisciplinary proposals, and mentor Early Career Professionals while strengthening client and business development relationships.

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver day-to-day technical transport planning inputs into development planning projects.
•Develop transport strategies, parking strategies, and inputs into masterplans across client projects.
•Support private-sector clients through the planning process and assist public-sector clients with transport and parking strategy development and scheme development.
•Provide project management and leadership on small to medium projects and help senior colleagues on complex multidisciplinary projects.
•Mentor Early Career Professionals and share technical expertise within the team.

Key Requirements

•Lead technical work on Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, access strategy work, parking strategies, sustainable transport, and active travel provision using guidance such as NPPF and Manual for Streets.
•Prepare traffic flow information for Transport Assessments and/or Environmental Statements.
•Set up and run junction capacity modelling software such as Junctions 10 and Linsig, including understanding inputs, outputs, and scenario testing.
•Be able to undertake project management for small to medium scale projects (e.g., budget planning, resource planning, invoicing).
•Be an experienced Transport Planner with technical knowledge and hands-on post graduate experience, ideally pursuing or holding chartered status in a transport-related discipline.
