Job Summary

Build and test production-grade diagnostic software that validates Arista network switches, from initial board bring-up through functional, performance, and stress verification. Partner with hardware and manufacturing teams to understand designs and troubleshoot failures with root-cause analysis, improving yields at the contract manufacturer. Lead technical architecture discussions, code reviews, and create Linux-based system software while also supporting complex customer issues and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, implement, and test production-grade diagnostics software for network switches.
•Bring up newly manufactured boards and support hardware validation schedules and feature delivery.
•Isolate failures and perform root-cause analysis of reported issues.
•Support new platform software and hardware features across hardware validation and testing.
•Create Linux-based system software and provide technical direction via architectural discussions and code reviews.

Key Requirements

•BS in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
•Prefer at least 8 years of software engineering experience, with a significant portion focused on hardware validation, manufacturing diagnostics, or low-level systems programming.
•Expertise in Python development with object-oriented design principles to architect robust, scalable software.
•Strong understanding of Linux internals, including debugging and troubleshooting system-level and kernel-level issues.
•Experience with board bring-up and validation, including hardware interaction via interconnect buses such as I2C, SPI, MDIO, JTAG, and PCIe.
