Key Responsibilities

  • •Continuously monitor implementation of Shariah resolutions and applicable laws, rules, and regulations across HSA, CBUAE, ISSC, and international regulators.
  • •Plan and execute Shariah compliance programs, including developing Shariah compliance frameworks/policies, delivering training, conducting gap analyses and reviews, and managing non-compliance incidents.
  • •Provide day-to-day Shariah compliance advice to product, business, controls, and support functions on correct implementation of HSA/ISSC resolutions and fatawa.
  • •Serve as the main point of contact for communications with internal and external stakeholders (compliance teams, regulators, external counsels, auditors) on Shariah compliance matters.
  • •Coordinate Shariah compliance initiatives and risk management between international locations and the Internal Shariah Control, including supporting assessments and updates to ISSC and senior management.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Shariah, Islamic Finance, Islamic Banking, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline from a recognised university.
  • •Good understanding of Islamic banking products, Shariah governance requirements, and AAOIFI Shariah Standards.
  • •Strong command of English and Arabic languages.
  • •Minimum 2–4 years of Shariah experience in a reputed bank or financial institution with exposure to Islamic Banking precepts and norms.
  • •Professional qualification/certification in Islamic Banking, Islamic Finance, Shariah Governance, or Islamic Commercial Jurisprudence is preferred.
