Job Summary

Lead end-to-end Product Control for European and Middle East sites within Controllership, ensuring traded products are fair valued, correctly accounted, and disclosed with prudent valuations. Drive Profit & Loss production, analysis, commentaries, and Balance Sheet reconciliations substantiation, while maintaining control environments aligned to global standards and SLAs. Continuously assess operational risks, support high-impact quality projects using Six Sigma/Lean, and ensure BCP documentation, agreement, and testing.

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver Profit & Loss production, analysis, commentaries, and Balance Sheet reconciliations substantiation with strong knowledge of products, valuation, and Global Markets reporting activities.
•Ensure delivery of Finance Product Control processes per agreed SLAs within the HSBC Global Resourcing framework, managing operational risks and operating within a well-defined control environment.
•Maintain alignment of Product Controls to global standards and highlight deviations.
•Continually assess operational risks considering changing procedures, staff movements, legal/regulatory requirements, reorganizations, and new technology.
•Document, agree, and test BCP (business continuity plan) and manage Product Control processes per group reporting requirements.

Key Requirements

•University degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in related fields such as Product Control or Valuations.
•Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and handling conflicts.
•Understanding of financial markets products (debt securities, money markets instruments, FX swaps, interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps), including valuation techniques and risk sensitivities (Greeks) with risk-factor P&L analysis.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience driving project implementation.
•Understanding and/or experience in Treasury and Hedge Accounting, including accounting controls for financial instruments.
