Key Responsibilities

  • •Research existing vulnerabilities and look for new vulnerabilities for detection.
  • •Develop detection logic/checks/plugins to detect vulnerabilities in Tenable products while minimizing false positives/negatives.
  • •Implement detection scripts for Tenable sensors based on research findings.
  • •Participate in detection logic discussions and help research new methods for detection.
  • •Interface with stakeholders outside the research team to externalize outcomes of research; help/train other researchers when needed.

  • •Keep abreast of security industry advancements and conduct original research to help keep customers secure.
  • •Develop detection scripts/checks for Tenable sensors (Nessus and others) using research findings.
  • •Research and develop detection methods for additional services and products from different vendors.
  • •Demonstrate strong programming skills in one or more languages (C and/or Python).
  • •Have B.S. in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent experience, with at least 3-5 years of development or R&D experience.
