Job Summary

Design and evolve TikTok’s core datastore service powering global products, focusing on multi-region active-active architecture, cross-region consistency, and high availability. Build and optimize metadata, storage, and distribution systems to handle trillion-level data and tens of millions of QPS. Apply an AI-native mindset to integrate AI-driven insights, governance, and anomaly detection into the data service. Lead technical roadmap planning and drive delivery of complex distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead architectural design and evolution of the core data service for global deployment.
•Design and implement active-active architecture solutions with cross-region data consistency and high availability.
•Develop and optimize core metadata management, storage, and distribution systems for extreme performance at massive scale.
•Integrate AI technologies with core data services, including intelligent data insights, AI-assisted governance, and anomaly detection.
•Analyze business needs and technology trends to define a medium-to-long-term roadmap and help the team overcome technical challenges.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related field, plus 5+ years building large-scale backend distributed systems.
•Hands-on experience designing and implementing globalized active-active architectures with strong understanding of challenges and solutions.
•Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go, C++, or Java, with strong coding skills and clean-code practices.
•Demonstrated ability to lead the design and successful delivery of complex distributed systems projects.
•Ability to apply AI-native concepts, including practical experience with AI-native systems/AIOps and applying AI/ML to infrastructure (preferred).
