Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist the lead biologist/scientist with wetland, plants and wildlife, protected upland, intertidal and nearshore marine, and other ecological surveys.
  • •Assist ecological leads with processing field data and developing/originating ecological assessment reports.
  • •Coordinate with governmental agencies regarding ecological survey protocols, reporting standards, endangered/threatened species coordination, and compliance for environmental permits and NEPA.
  • •Identify potential environmental impacts through reviews of engineering plans, aerials, field data, desktop research, and GIS databases.
  • •Assist in preparing permit applications, NEPA documents, and other technical information.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Biology, or a related field.
  • •Reliable transportation and ability to travel overnight; fieldwork may involve long outdoor days and rigorous conditions.
  • •Valid U.S. Driver’s License; must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review as a condition of employment.
  • •U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
  • •Preferred: experience with field data collection and preparation of technical reports/documents.
