Key Responsibilities

  • •Support the Principal in delivering the academic vision, priorities, and improvement plans; deputise for the Vice Principal and Principal in academic matters.
  • •Drive teaching and learning strategies across the school, including lesson observations, learning walks, work scrutiny, and reflective practice.
  • •Oversee curriculum design, implementation, and review aligned with national and TLAG frameworks, ensuring progression, continuity, and challenge across key stages.
  • •Implement whole-school assessment systems and use regular data analysis to monitor attainment, identify gaps, and drive targeted interventions.
  • •Support school improvement planning and inspection readiness (ADEK/BSO), manage academic policies and procedures, and line manage direct reports in staff performance and development.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • •Recognised teaching qualification and proven leadership experience in a school setting.
  • •Minimum 8 years of teaching experience, including 3–5 years in a senior or middle leadership role.
  • •Secondary School specialism with strong experience in curriculum development, academic standards, assessment, and teaching and learning across Secondary phases.
  • •Strong understanding of ADEK frameworks and inspection requirements, plus experience leading diverse teams effectively.
