Job Summary

Own the technical strategy for the end-to-end Modeling → ML Serving → API interface for Host Pricing. Define architecture and contracts for moving models from development to production, lead a unified serving stack, and build backfill/evaluation infrastructure so teams can iterate in days. Partner with Data Science, MLE/MLI, and core Pricing & Availability backend teams, review code, and mentor engineers through hands-on pairing on challenging infrastructure problems.

Key Responsibilities

•Define the architecture and contracts governing model movement from development to production, including feature store design, model schema management, and online/offline consistency with multi-version support.
•Lead the buildout of a unified serving stack that eliminates per-model one-off implementations and enables a turnkey training-to-production path for data scientists.
•Architect backfill and evaluation infrastructure to simulate production inference over historical data quickly.
•Establish domain contracts between Modeling and Serving so teams can move independently via clear, enforced interfaces.
•Review and evolve ML serving architecture, write and review code for feature engineering jobs/configurations and serving endpoints, and mentor engineers through design reviews and pairing.

Key Requirements

•12+ years in backend or platform engineering with substantial experience building production ML systems or data-intensive infrastructure.
•Strong programming skills in Java, Kotlin, Scala, and/or Python.
•Deep understanding of ML systems design including feature stores, training/serving consistency, model versioning, and online/offline inference pipelines.
•Experience with high-scale batch and real-time data pipelines such as Spark, Airflow, and Kafka, including point-in-time correctness for backfills.
•Proficiency in architectural patterns for large, high-scale applications including well-designed APIs, data contracts, and multi-tenant serving infrastructure.
