Workplace: Remote
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Software Engineering
Seniority: Director level

Key Responsibilities

  • •Define the architecture and contracts governing model movement from development to production, including feature store design, model schema management, and online/offline consistency with multi-version support.
  • •Lead the buildout of a unified serving stack that eliminates per-model one-off implementations and enables a turnkey training-to-production path for data scientists.
  • •Architect backfill and evaluation infrastructure to simulate production inference over historical data quickly.
  • •Establish domain contracts between Modeling and Serving so teams can move independently via clear, enforced interfaces.
  • •Review and evolve ML serving architecture, write and review code for feature engineering jobs/configurations and serving endpoints, and mentor engineers through design reviews and pairing.

Key Requirements

  • •12+ years in backend or platform engineering with substantial experience building production ML systems or data-intensive infrastructure.
  • •Strong programming skills in Java, Kotlin, Scala, and/or Python.
  • •Deep understanding of ML systems design including feature stores, training/serving consistency, model versioning, and online/offline inference pipelines.
  • •Experience with high-scale batch and real-time data pipelines such as Spark, Airflow, and Kafka, including point-in-time correctness for backfills.
  • •Proficiency in architectural patterns for large, high-scale applications including well-designed APIs, data contracts, and multi-tenant serving infrastructure.
