Job Summary

Lead and mentor the Database Services team to deliver secure, reliable, high-performing enterprise database platforms across on-prem and cloud. Own end-to-end database administration and operations, platform engineering and optimisation, and database governance. Drive improvements in availability, performance, capacity planning, backup/recovery, and business continuity, while enabling hybrid database capabilities and migrations. Manage stakeholders, vendors, and licensing costs, and help shape hosting and network strategies.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and mentor the Database Services team, fostering a high-performance, customer-focused culture.
•Oversee end-to-end delivery of enterprise database services, including DBA operations as the primary focus.
•Manage database availability, performance, reliability, monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning across enterprise platforms.
•Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance, including backup, recovery, and disaster recovery/business continuity.
•Support database architecture/design and lifecycle management, enabling cloud/hybrid capabilities and migrations/integrations, and contribute to data/database governance frameworks.

Key Requirements

•Degree in Computer Science or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
•Extensive IT experience as a database administrator, including managing teams in complex environments.
•Strong background in database platforms and large-scale application environments, with demonstrated leadership delivering enterprise database services.
•Proven leadership across multi-site or distributed teams and ability to drive operational improvements and change.
•Strong knowledge of project management frameworks, governance, and ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
