Key Responsibilities

  • •Aerodynamics: apply wind tunnel testing and computational techniques to analyse and optimise aircraft design for safe flight envelope operation.
  • •Design Engineering: liaise with stakeholders and manage product bill of materials, producing CAD definition of an optimised, manufacturable product.
  • •Materials Engineering: analyse, qualify, and test materials; investigate material properties and failures; support development of new materials for airborne platforms.
  • •Structures Engineering: perform structural analysis calculations to validate strength, stiffness, and structural life of BAE Systems platforms.
  • •Contribute to airframe engineering capability across the engineering lifecycle, supporting qualification and certification work.

Salary: GBP 34,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Obtain or be predicted to obtain a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or Maths.
  • •Be able to apply knowledge across Aerodynamics, Design Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Structures Engineering disciplines.
  • •Use analysis and engineering methods to support safe design across an aircraft flight envelope.
  • •Support engineering documentation and product dataset creation to enable manufacture and qualification.
  • •Meet security restrictions, achieving at minimum the Baseline Personnel Security Standard.
