Job Summary

Join SpaceX’s Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) team as an EMC-focused engineer responsible for ensuring electronics performance in harsh electromagnetic environments. You’ll support pre-compliance and in-house testing, drive EMC/RF design and analysis for Starlink hardware, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, integration, and mission operations to enable broadband satellite internet and reliable space access.

Key Responsibilities

•Support pre-compliance testing and third-party certification testing while developing the capability to perform in-house self-certification for residential, industrial, maritime and aviation electronics per IEC/EN/CISPR/FCC standards and DO160G.
•Ensure that designs meet the EMI/EMC and radio requirements that have been set.
•Operate and automate a variety of EMI, RF, and electronics test equipment including EMC chambers and conducted EMC assets.
•Develop and maintain calibration of lab equipment supporting compliance testing.
•Interface with design teams across the company on Starlink Product applications and set requirements for EMC/EMI design and analysis.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or other engineering discipline
•1+ years hardware-focused electrical/EMC engineering experience
•Experience with EMI/EMC and RF requirements, analysis, design, and testing
•Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, CST)
•Familiarity with CISPR/FCC Radio and EMC standards
