Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage workers’ compensation claims from injury reporting through resolution, including coordination with TPAs, medical providers, and legal counsel.
  • •Review claims, investigations, and medical documentation to support timely and appropriate outcomes; participate in claim reviews, hearings, mediations, and litigation as needed.
  • •Administer transitional duty and return-to-work programs, coordinating work restrictions, accommodations, and return-to-work plans.
  • •Ensure compliance with South Dakota workers’ compensation laws and company policies; maintain accurate claim records and support audits and reporting.
  • •Identify injury/claim trends, communicate significant issues and risk concerns to leadership, and prepare claim status reports and program metrics.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of experience managing workers’ compensation claims and related areas, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • •2+ years of experience in a leadership position including team development and management.
  • •Understanding of workers’ compensation dynamics across multiple states.
  • •Understanding of the litigation process related to workers’ compensation claims and strong familiarity with third-party administration processes.
  • •Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, written/verbal communication, organization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
