Job Summary

Maintain and troubleshoot production equipment, utilities, and facility systems in a plastics manufacturing environment. Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on machinery and automation, manage utility health, and execute daily start-up/shutdown procedures with safety compliance. Conduct diagnostics using technical drawings and PLC ladder logic, complete CMMS documentation, and support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement. Mentor junior technicians and partner with Production, Engineering, and EHS to maximize uptime, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plastics processing and auxiliary equipment, including injection molding, extrusion, thermoforms, and automated systems.
•Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical (up to 480V), pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues to reduce downtime.
•Operate and maintain utility assets (air compressors, chilled/process water systems, cooling towers, vacuum pumps, plant air dryers) and respond to alarms.
•Execute building start-up/shutdown checklists, ensuring safety systems are verified and tasks are documented for the next shift.
•Conduct technical diagnostics and root-cause analysis using drawings/manuals and implement corrective and preventive actions; complete CMMS work orders and ensure OSHA compliance.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED required.
•3–5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing (plastics or high-speed production preferred).
•Demonstrated experience maintaining utility systems (compressed air, chilled/process water, pumps) and performing general carpentry/building maintenance.
•Proficiency with mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial electrical work up to 480V.
•Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals; maintain accurate CMMS records and comply with OSHA safety programs (PPE, LOTO, machine guarding).
