Key Responsibilities

•Develop and check hydraulic models using packages such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, Mike 11/21, HEC-RAS and ICM to assist the design of Flood Alleviation Schemes, deliver Flood Risk Assessments and conduct reservoir flood studies
•Develop water quality models (physico-chemical, biological, bacterial or chemical) using industry standard software such as MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT and/or ICM
•Conceptualise and scope modelling approaches, considering risks and opportunities in each project
•Undertake and check hydrological assessments including Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2 and WINFAP
•Lead and input into tenders ranging from innovative one-off projects to multimillion-pound framework contracts

Key Requirements

•Significant experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling software (such as Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller and/ or TUFLOW)
•Demonstrable knowledge of Environment Agency requirements in preparing flood models for flood risk assessments
•Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline
•Obtained or near to obtaining professional qualification with CIWEM or similar
•Practical knowledge of scripting programmes such as Python, Anaconda, Ruby would be advantageous
