Job Summary

Lead the Construction & Commissioning function within an assigned business grouping for Wood’s Oil, Gas & New Energies projects. Drive delivery excellence, safety and secure execution, and ensure construction and commissioning scopes are effectively managed. Oversee governance, risk management, proposal/bid support, and development of construction management systems. Manage large multidisciplinary teams (typically 50–200) and shape strategic workforce planning, capability, and performance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

•Drive HSSEA culture and performance, ensuring safe and secure project delivery while protecting contract margins.
•Ensure Construction Management and Project Management/Project Controls effectively manage construction and commissioning scopes and apply consistent risk management.
•Provide construction and commissioning input to proposals and bids, support bid preparation/reviews, and coordinate SMEs as needed.
•Lead development and improvement of the Construction Management System and optimize construction and field commissioning technologies.
•Provide line management for direct reports and oversee construction engineering/management personnel (typically 50–200), including performance, workforce planning, capability development, and competency assurance.

Key Requirements

•Minimum ISCED Level 6 (Bachelor's Degree) in Engineering or Science, or equivalent expertise gained through extensive industry experience.
•Chartered Membership of a relevant professional institute/association or Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) status (or equivalent professional accreditation).
•Extensive knowledge and practical experience in construction and commissioning of complex projects, including significant field-based construction experience.
•Strong understanding of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) processes and tools.
•Proven leadership promoting safe work practices, with excellent written/verbal communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
